About the Role

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Registered Nurse to join our team at Oxleas NHS Foundation Trust. As a Registered Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality nursing care to our patients, working autonomously to deliver physical, psychological, social, recreational, and spiritual care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality nursing care, using therapeutic engagement and activities to promote recovery.
  • Ensure basic needs are met, overseeing activities for nutrition, hydration, hygiene, comfort, emotional, and social support.
  • Coordinate patient-centered care, collaborating with the multi-disciplinary team (MDT) on care plans, getting feedback, and improving them.
  • Communicate effectively, providing clear information about care to patients and families.
  • Work positively with the MDT and partner organizations, maintaining a safe and therapeutic working environment.
  • Administer medication, monitor side effects, and ensure patient compliance.
  • Maintain a safe environment, ensuring safe medication storage, sharps disposal, and clinical equipment use.
  • Collect data, track patient progress, discuss findings, and generate reports, developing and executing care plans under Registered Nurse supervision.
  • Guide junior staff in providing hands-on care, including patient engagement, patient respect and dignity, care plan creation, monitoring vital signs, promoting healthy lifestyles, and recovery-focused activities.
  • Ensure patient and service needs are met, including required documentation, during admissions and discharges.
  • Champion patient needs and rights within trust policy, empowering patients to manage their care.
