Role Overview

As a Customs Compliance Specialist, you will play a crucial role in ensuring that our import and export operations adhere to all regulatory requirements. Your expertise will be essential in navigating the complexities of customs procedures and trade agreements.

Key Responsibilities

  • Gathering comprehensive information from multiple sources to facilitate accurate product classification.
  • Ensuring precise data entry and maintaining high standards of accuracy.
  • Conducting thorough reviews of classifications and documenting the rationale behind each decision.
  • Researching trade agreements and import regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Collaborating with procurement and international teams to verify product eligibility under relevant regulations.
  • Enhancing and updating our classification database sourced from various internal resources.
  • Developing process flow diagrams and informational guides for team members and stakeholders.
  • Engaging with both internal and external parties to communicate customs-related information.
  • Transferring specialized customs knowledge to operational teams.

Qualifications

  • Experience in customs operations is highly advantageous.
  • Familiarity with import and export customs processes.
  • Knowledge of the UK Tariff Schedule and General Rules of Interpretation (GIR) is beneficial.
  • A strong aptitude for data analysis.
  • Logical thinking and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Proficient in Excel and other data management tools.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to tailor language to various audiences.
  • Strong teamwork and collaboration abilities.
  • Exceptional organizational skills and the capacity to work independently.
  • Meticulous attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.
  • Proficiency in German is a plus, but not mandatory.
