Job Overview:

Our client, a leading facilities management and professional services company, is seeking a skilled Mechanical and Electrical Engineer to join their team in Central London. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining, servicing, and upgrading mechanical and electrical systems across a range of client sites.

This is an exciting opportunity to work with a recognized company, delivering high-quality M&E services in the heart of London. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in mechanical and electrical engineering, with experience in facilities management or building services.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Maintenance & Repair: Conduct planned preventative maintenance (PPM) and reactive maintenance on mechanical and electrical systems, including HVAC, lighting, power, and plumbing systems.
  2. Fault Finding & Diagnostics: Identify and diagnose faults in mechanical and electrical equipment, ensuring timely and effective repairs are carried out to minimize downtime.
  3. Installation & Upgrades: Assist in the installation, testing, and commissioning of new mechanical and electrical systems, as well as upgrades to existing systems.
  4. Health & Safety Compliance: Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety policies and UK regulatory requirements, including risk assessments and method statements.
  5. Documentation: Keep accurate records of maintenance activities, parts used, and any system modifications for compliance purposes.
  6. Energy Efficiency: Identify opportunities for improving energy efficiency and cost savings across client sites, advising on sustainable solutions.

Requirements:

  1. Educational Background: NVQ Level 3 in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering, or equivalent qualification.
  2. Experience: 3+ years of experience in a mechanical and electrical engineering role, preferably in facilities management or building services.
  3. Technical Skills: Strong knowledge of HVAC systems, electrical systems, and plumbing. Experience with fault diagnosis, repairs, and installation of M&E systems.
  4. IT Skills: Competency in using building management systems (BMS) and maintenance software.
