Environmental Fate Modelling and Risk Assessment Expert

The ERM International Group Limited is seeking an experienced Environmental Fate Modelling and Risk Assessment expert to join our team in Europe. This is a great opportunity to work with a well-respected consultancy with a strong track record of advising clients in the chemical sector, focusing on agrochemicals, biocides, and REACH, to help them navigate the complexities of the EU regulatory environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide high-quality consultancy services in environmental fate modelling and risk assessment to clients and to other ERM staff to meet regulatory and business needs.
  • Work closely with clients, represent ERM in client meetings and respond to specific questions on environmental fate.
  • Contribute to the commercial growth of the business through actively participating in wider business development activities such as client visits, conferences, and expert groups relevant to the expert area, as appropriate.
  • Provide expert advice on environmental fate data, modelling, and study monitoring, as required.
  • Peer review junior work and advise on higher-tier approaches to fate modelling and risk assessment for crop protection.
  • Ensure awareness of the latest developments in all areas of environmental fate modelling and risk assessment.
  • Define actions and identify and utilize resources to achieve project tasks or objectives; ensure that projects are delivered on time and to budget, and that goals are aligned to desired project results.
  • Develop expertise in new EU regulatory developments according to the requirements of the business.
Requirements
  • Educated to at least degree level within Chemistry, Biology, or a related field.
  • Able to contribute to and inform client decisions on regulatory strategy.
  • Strong knowledge of relevant EU regulations and guidelines, including EU data requirements for environmental fate studies.
  • Experienced in defending dossiers and in the preparation of position papers for EU regulatory bodies.
  • Practical experience of communication and liaison with EU regulatory bodies (Member States, EFSA, etc.).
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a collaborative environment and across disciplines.
  • Strong commitment to delivering high-quality work that exceeds clients' expectations.
  • Experience in non-EU regulatory requirements (e.g., Am, North America, APAC, WHO) would be considered an asset.
