About the Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Ecological Specialist to join our planning and rural teams in Horley. As a valued member of our team, you will collaborate with experienced Surveyors, Planners, and Architectural professionals to deliver high-quality ecological services.

Your key duties will include:

  • Conducting ecological surveys to support planning applications and identify opportunities for biodiversity net gain
  • Advising project teams on relevant ecological legislation and regulations
  • Developing strategies to mitigate and enhance ecological impacts
  • Managing subcontractors and ensuring timely delivery

Qualifications and Experience

You should hold a degree in Ecology or a related field and be a qualified member of CIEEM (MCIEEM). With at least 3 years of experience in ecological practice, you will possess a solid background in conducting ecological surveys, preparing Preliminary Ecological Appraisals, protected species surveys, and Ecological Impact Assessments.

A full driving license and access to a car are required for this role. You should also demonstrate self-motivation, minimal supervision requirements, and awareness of health and safety practices.

We estimate the salary for this position to be around £35,000 - £50,000 per annum, depending on experience.
