Job Title: Personal Care Assistant for Senior Individual

The family member seeking assistance represents their father, who enjoys engaging in outdoor activities such as leisurely strolls in a wheelchair and enjoying bus rides. The ideal candidate should be active and appreciate the value of companionship and social interaction.

Conditions include stroke, vascular dementia, and a brain tumour.

Additional Information
  • The individual has a fondness for pets, particularly a small dog.
Role Responsibilities
  • Assist with meal preparation and dining.
  • Encourage social engagement and participation in various activities.
  • Establish a trusting and supportive relationship with the individual.

Additional Duties:
Accompany the individual on outings, including walks and local trips. Responsibilities may vary daily, requiring adaptability to the individual's evolving needs.
It is essential to report any incidents and prioritize the individual's safety at all times.

Transport Considerations A car driver is preferred but not mandatory. Essential Skills
  • Exhibit honesty, reliability, and punctuality.
  • Ability to work independently and demonstrate self-motivation.
  • Show patience, empathy, and effective listening skills.
  • Provide non-judgmental emotional support.
  • Possess a genuine interest in assisting individuals with disabilities.
  • Be flexible and willing to adjust to daily requirements.
  • Have knowledge or a willingness to learn about stroke and vascular dementia.

Additional Skills: A readiness to engage and support the individual in achieving their personal goals.

Training Requirements Successful candidates will receive comprehensive training, including safe moving and handling techniques. Training on the use of equipment for seating adjustments will also be provided if necessary.
