Job Title: Physical Education Specialist

About the Role:
This role presents an opportunity to work as a Physical Education Specialist in a Cardiff secondary school. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching pupils crucial techniques and tactics, in addition to delivering theoretical content for GCSE and A-Level exams/coursework.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Pupils demonstrate clear practical and theoretical progression
  • Plan and prepare effective schemes of learning and lessons
  • Use innovative and diverse teaching methods that support the national curriculum
  • Motivate, inspire and involve students through creating a safe learning environment
  • Use regular assessments to monitor progress and set targets

Required Skills and Qualifications:
  • Knowledgeable about various sports and can teach sport effectively
  • Qualified Teaching Status (QTS)
  • Valid DBS (Can be produced through us)
  • Registered with the Educational Workforce Council (EWC) (Can be produced through us)
  • Passionate about sport

Desirable Skills:
  • Full driving licence and has access to a car
  • You live in or near Cardiff
  • Experience of working under Estyn inspection observations
  • Happy to organise internal and external sporting events
