Job Title: Senior Technologist - Modern Oral

British American Tobacco UK is seeking a highly skilled Senior Technologist to join our team in Southampton. As a key member of our New Categories product development portfolio, you will be responsible for executing assigned tasks using laboratory equipment and expertise to support the delivery of commercial vision.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver assigned activities across a portfolio of projects and activities within the New Categories product development portfolio.
  • Hold lab expertise in operating required machinery/testing capabilities to perform assigned tasks in required time frames.
  • Have technical understanding of workstreams within the product development plan of a given project to deliver assigned tasks within required timescales.
  • Awareness of standard methodologies and compliance using technical knowledge and broad scientific principles to ensure effective delivery of an appropriate given task.
  • Assist and work closely with senior scientist roles within the team with a focus on upskilling personal breadth and depth of technical knowledge in new categories product development.
Requirements:
  • Ability to deliver against a portfolio of tasks within defined timescales.
  • Broad understanding of product testing approaches and data interpretation.
  • Broad knowledge of product research and related methodologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Degree-level qualification in a relevant field of study (e.g., Chemistry, Food science, Technology science, Materials science, engineering, etc).
