We are seeking a highly skilled Flood Risk Consultant to join our team at one of the world's leading environmental and engineering consultancies. The successful candidate will be responsible for directing, coordinating, and undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF and/or Flood Consequence Assessment in accordance with TAN15.

Your Role
  • Directing, coordinating, and undertaking Flood Risk Assessments in accordance with NPPF and/or Flood Consequence Assessment in accordance with TAN15.
  • Providing planning-related advice in relation to flood risk and drainage for projects in England and Wales.
  • Developing solutions and assessing options for flood risk mitigation.
  • Supporting, managing, or directing the delivery of high-quality projects to programme and budget requirements.
  • Preparing proposals and tenders, and undertaking business development activities.
  • Knowledge of interpreting hydraulic model outputs, or using hydraulic modelling software such as Flood Modeller, TUFLOW, and HEC-RAS.
  • Excellent knowledge and awareness of the UK planning process and policy.
  • Effective technical report writing skills and verbal communication skills to explain complex technical issues to non-specialists.
  • Quality assurance and review expertise.
  • Project management, including contract and commercial awareness.
  • Familiarity in working in GIS and CAD formats.
  • Advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office (e.g. Word/Excel).
Desirable Attributes for the Role
  • Experience preparing outline drainage strategies.
  • Experience in hydrological analysis using Flood Estimation Handbook methodologies.
  • Quality assurance and review expertise.
  • Networking and building existing and new client relationships.
  • A full UK driving licence will be desirable for the role.
