Job Overview
We are seeking compassionate and experienced Refuge Support Workers to join our team. You will play a vital role in creating a safe and nurturing environment for individuals and families escaping domestic violence.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide emotional support, guidance, and practical assistance to residents.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each resident's needs.
- Facilitate group sessions and workshops focused on healing, empowerment, and skill-building.
- Maintain a safe and secure environment by monitoring CCTV systems and responding to emergencies.
- Collaborate with other professionals, including social workers, counselors, and law enforcement agencies, to ensure comprehensive support for residents.
- Document resident interactions, progress, and any concerns in accordance with established procedures.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Proven experience working with individuals who have experienced domestic abuse.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with vulnerable individuals.
- A deep understanding of the complexities of domestic violence and its impact on survivors.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities in challenging situations.
