Job Overview:

The Academic Director position at the Community Interest Company is a vital leadership role focused on driving programme development and delivery in Rochdale. This position reports directly to the Board of Directors and involves creating, implementing, and managing strategies that align with the company's public benefit objectives.

This role entails occasional evening and weekend work, as well as extensive UK-wide travel. The Academic Director will also contribute to other projects beyond their core responsibilities to inform the Trust's overall strategy and development.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive funding model and business plan to ensure a sustainable future for the CIC.">
  • Establish and manage an effective staffing structure for the CIC, including performance management and professional development.">
  • Maintain open lines of communication with the Board of Directors and identify potential risks impacting the CIC's reputation, operations, and financial standing.">
  • Leverage relationships with senior leaders in Rochdale schools to raise the profile of the CIC and build strong partnerships.">
  • Design and implement a strategic communications plan to increase awareness and reputation of the CIC, driving programme recruitment.">

Desirable Qualifications and Experience:

  • Educated to degree level or NVQ level 4, with at least 5 years' experience in office-based or school-based settings.">
  • Deep knowledge of the education system, including senior leadership, and the needs of schools, teachers, and young people.">
  • Proven track record in strategic and business planning, programme management, and team leadership.">
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills, organisational and administrative abilities, and problem-solving skills.">
