Apprentice Mechanical Engineer

Salary: £28,808 - £38,896 per annum (dependent on experience) plus overtime and travel time paid
Basic Hours: 40 hours per week - Monday to Friday 8am - 4pm
Contract / Permanent: Permanent
Site Based / Office / Remote: Site based - Working away
The Role:
This is a field-based position, requiring the holder to spend 75% of their working month on-site and 25% in a local depot. They will be responsible for undertaking technical installations and inspections of large LPG vessels, laying underground distribution pipe work using various methods of jointing, and installing and connecting all types of pipework and equipment. The ideal candidate will possess good communication skills, be physically fit, and have a working knowledge of LPG in both liquid and vapour phase and safe working practices.
Key Responsibilities:
- Undertake routine maintenance work at client storage depots
- Perform maintenance and inspection work on industrial customer LPG plants
- Install pipework, pumps, vaporisers, and auxiliary equipment at customer sites
- Assist with prefabrication work and vaporiser assembly
Requirements:
- LPG experience with hands-on skills
- Previous experience with LPG/ACS qualification (EP-EPC) essential
- Ability to work overtime and meet agreed deadlines
- Self-motivating and resourceful to overcome problems as they arise
- Good communication and influencing skills
- A working knowledge of pipework assembly, including flanged and screwed joints
- Full UK driving license (Light vehicle up to 3.5 tonne)
- Basic IT skills
