Job Title: Family Services Program Manager

Join the Commonwealth of Virginia in a dynamic role as a Family Services Program Manager. This position offers a unique opportunity to lead and oversee family services programs, including child protective services, family preservation, and adult services.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide leadership and program oversight to family services programs, ensuring seamless delivery of services and promoting strategies for consistent performance expectations.
  • Collaborate with front-line supervisors, community partners, and leaders to bring about system change and process improvements.
  • Manage aspects of program development, process improvements, quality assurance, and staff development for Family Services programs.
  • Regularly engage in the evaluation of program processes, effectiveness, and quality of service delivery, using strengths-based, trauma-informed, and proven quality assurance methods.
  • Collect and analyze data to guide program evaluation and process improvements, compile, interpret, and disseminate program data and information.
  • Provide ongoing education and training to supervisors and staff regarding best practice changes, collaborate with internal and external partners in the best interest of the agency and citizens.
  • Work collaboratively with supervisors and staff to establish performance measures and processes for consistent performance evaluation, promote the department's vision, mission, and model the agency's leadership philosophy in all aspects of service delivery.
  • Review and evaluate service effectiveness using data and various program evaluation methods, respond to and prepare reports, serve as an active participant on the Family Services leadership team and the agency-wide leadership team.
Requirements:
  • Master's degree in Social Work and two years of experience in child and family serving programs, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
  • Child welfare experience in Virginia public social services preferred.
  • Experience compiling reports, correspondence, data, and narrative of case management and grant proposals.
  • Knowledge of trauma-informed practices preferred.
Skills and Traits:
  • Excellent organizational, time management, oral/written communication, interpersonal, public relations, and supervisory skills required.
  • Knowledge and ability to apply social work principles and Virginia policies in family services programs.
  • Ability to demonstrate exceptional critical thinking and decision-making skills during crisis situations.
  • Computer competency required; proficiency in OASIS and Safe Measures preferred.
  • Ability to interpret laws, policies, and regulations related to human services.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate and achieve performance goals.
Additional Requirements:
  • Current valid driver's license and good driving record required.
  • Pre-employment drug testing, FBI criminal background check, and education/degree verification required.

This position is considered Critical Safety Sensitive and is subject to random drug testing and alcohol testing. The use of medical marijuana for this position is prohibited.
