Decontamination Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Decontamination Technician to join our team at QE Facilities. As a key member of our sterile services department, you will be responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient decontamination of reusable medical devices.
Key Responsibilities- Decontaminate reusable medical devices in accordance with established protocols and procedures.
- Operate and maintain sterilization equipment, including autoclaves and washer-disinfectors.
- Collaborate with laboratory staff to ensure the safe collection and disposal of hazardous waste.
- Participate in training and development programs to maintain knowledge and skills in decontamination and infection control.
- Contribute to the development and implementation of standard operating procedures and quality management systems.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in decontamination and infection control, who is able to work independently and as part of a team. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of COSHH and health and safety regulations, as well as excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Essential qualifications include GCSEs in Maths and English, and a willingness to attend training and development programs. Desirable qualifications include NVQ3 in Decontamination or equivalent, and experience in supervisory roles.
