Venesky-Brown's client, a public sector organisation, is seeking a skilled Junior Sous Chef to join their team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the daily running of the kitchen, food preparation, and working alongside the Head & Sous Chef and front of house team to ensure the smooth operation of the organisation's food service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Manage the daily kitchen operations, ensuring a safe and hygienic environment.
  • Prepare and cook food to the highest standards, meeting the organisation's quality and presentation expectations.
  • Work collaboratively with the Head & Sous Chef and front of house team to deliver exceptional customer service and maintain a positive dining experience.
  • Manage food storage, purchase, and inventory, ensuring efficient use of resources and minimizing waste.
  • Develop and implement menu planning, ensuring alignment with organisational budgets and culinary standards.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records, adhering to regulatory requirements.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
  • NVQ Level 2 or above in Catering
  • Minimum Intermediate Food Hygiene Certificate
  • Previous experience working in a similar role, preferably in a public sector organisation
  • Excellent communication and team working skills
  • Highly organised with excellent planning and time management skills
  • Able to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
  • A full driving licence
