This role requires the post holder to have a PVG Scheme membership or record. If the post holder is not a current PVG member for the required regulatory group, an application will need to be made to Disclosure Scotland and deemed satisfactory before they can begin in post.

The specialist nurse will utilise their specialist clinical knowledge to inform decision-making and clinical judgment. They will provide specialist advice to the multidisciplinary team on patient management through assessment, treatment, and review planning in partnership with the patient and carer.

They will also provide specialist advice to healthcare professionals, other agencies, carers, clients, and relatives.

The specialist nurse will support the development of the service to improve practice and work collaboratively across healthcare boundaries, implementing and evaluating evidence-based standards, guidelines, and policies.

NHS Scotland is reducing its full-time working week from 37.5 to 37 hours per week from 1 April 2024, with no change in pay. This reduction will also be applied pro rata for part-time staff. This advert and any subsequent offer/contract of employment reflects the new working hours.
