London, Greater London, United Kingdom Ministry of Defence Full time

Seeking an exceptional System Administrator to join our team in a challenging role as a Land Systems Specialist. Based at the Defence College of Technical Training, you will be part of a diverse and dynamic team working on various projects.

As a key member of the Exam Centre and Internal Validation (EC&IV) Department, your primary responsibility will be to manage examination processes for REME land engineering systems and RAF technical training courses. This involves setting up test and assessment methods that ensure the evaluation of transferable learning against course objectives is valid, reliable, and fair.

You will work closely with DSEME Course Design Team staff and Training Subject Matter Experts to develop Assessment Strategies, Assessment Specifications, and assessment methods. Additionally, you will collect data from end-of-phase training, facilitate post-course discussions with trainees, and evaluate feedback to improve DSEME processes.

Your analytical skills will come in handy when conducting Internal Quality Assurance (IQA) activities to monitor assessment judgements and decisions. You must ensure consistent and reliable judgements are made across the school, driving forward quality improvements in assessment practice.

This role also involves operating within required qualification frameworks to deliver regulated qualifications according to set standards and quality assurance requirements. Furthermore, you will direct day-to-day line management and career development of Civil Service staff under your supervision, being accountable to the DSEME Head of EC&IV.

We offer a competitive salary of £35,290 per annum, plus benefits such as membership in the Civil Service Defined Benefit Pension scheme, where the Ministry of Defence contributes £10,223 annually. You will also enjoy opportunities for learning and development tailored to your role, flexible working options, and a culture encouraging inclusion and diversity.
