Ackerman Pierce is seeking a skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team in providing expert care to our residents.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive assessments of service users and carers with complex needs in relation to their home environment.
  • Provide expert advice and assessments for equipment and home modifications to enhance functional independence and quality of life.
  • Recommend and implement adaptations to support individuals with complex needs.
  • Work collaboratively with Social Work colleagues to utilize functional, moving, and handling skills and knowledge of equipment to positively influence care and support needs.
  • Provide both simple and complex equipment and adaptations, reviewing their effectiveness and making recommendations for improvement.
  • Conduct moving and handling assessments to ensure safe and effective care.
  • Demonstrate an awareness of safeguarding vulnerable people and the importance of dignity and respect when interacting with individuals.

To Be Successful:

  • Prior experience working as an Occupational Therapist in the community setting.
  • Previous experience working with major adaptations and community rehabilitation.
  • Rapid response experience and manual handling skills.
  • Current HCPC registration and enhanced DBS/CRB clearance ( Ackerman Pierce can facilitate this process).
