About the Role

Mears is seeking a dedicated Welfare Support Officer to join our team in providing integration support services to families under the Afghan Resettlement and Assistance Policy. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the well-being and safety of our service users.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide practical and emotional support to service users, including safeguarding and welfare issues
  • Monitor service users' wellbeing and support needs, and ensure all records are updated and accurate for audit purposes
  • Work collaboratively with colleagues, local authorities, and service users to ensure a professional and well-defined service is provided
  • Identify individuals and family needs, and recognize the required support packages to maintain independence
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues, local authorities, and service users
  • Experience working with mental health and challenging behavior is essential

Requirements:

  • Experience of working with vulnerable and diverse client groups is essential
  • Experience and understanding of safeguarding is essential
  • Ability to work under own initiative and be resilient
  • Full UK driving license
