A senior position is available for a skilled contracts and procurement specialist to join Luton Borough Council in Bedfordshire. The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of PQE as a qualified Solicitor, Barrister or FCILEx and possess excellent knowledge of commercial law.

The role involves delivering professional legal advice to various council departments on complex matters, managing cases, drafting contracts, and leading procurements. As a key member of the commercial legal team, you will have the opportunity to develop your specialism with the support of an experienced team.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Providing comprehensive legal advice to various council departments
  • Managing a portfolio of cases involving complex commercial matters, procurement, and bespoke arrangements
  • Drafting contracts on behalf of clients, including general terms and conditions, grant funding agreements, inter-agency agreements, framework agreements, collaboration agreements, and NHS funding agreements
  • Acting as legal lead on multi-authority procurements

The successful candidate will be offered a competitive salary package, including a car allowance of £3,203 per annum, a market supplement of £4,000 per annum, and 25-32 days' annual leave linked to length of service and grade.
