Talent Torch is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Ecologist to join our team. As a key member of our Planning and Environmental Services department, you will be responsible for overseeing all ecological works for our projects throughout the UK.
Key Responsibilities- Undertake and manage ecological surveys in support of planning applications and projects, including fieldwork and the organisation of subcontractors and specialist consultants.
- Conduct report writing and desk-based work, ensuring high-quality deliverables that meet our client's expectations.
- Grow the ecological team under your guidance through business development and quality service, driving business growth and expansion.
- Work collaboratively with the wider team to manage and organise projects, ensuring successful applications and client satisfaction.
- Develop and maintain your own portfolio of projects and clients, as well as supporting colleagues with their workloads.
- Proven track record in consultancy, with experience of PEA, EcIA, and protected species surveys.
- Full UK driver's licence and access to own vehicle.
- Working knowledge of the Scottish planning system, including planning policy and species survey/impact assessment guidance.
- Understanding of the risks and hazards associated with outdoor working and remote working.
- Bat Survey Licence Holder.
- A degree in a relevant ecological field.
- CSCS Card Holder (ecologist).
- Tree climbing and aerial rescue qualification.
