Job Title: Sous Chef

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Sous Chef to join our team at BaxterStorey. As a Sous Chef, you will play a key role in the success of our kitchen, working closely with the Head Chef to deliver exceptional culinary experiences to our clients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Food Preparation: Prepare and cook dishes according to recipes and standards set by the Head Chef, ensuring food safety standards are adhered to at all times.
  • Station Management: Oversee the production of all dishes assigned to your station and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
  • Quality Control: Maintain high-quality standards for all dishes, ensuring presentation and taste are considered at all times.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate effectively with all team members and assist/support colleagues as needed, coaching junior chefs to support their development.
  • Menu Development: Collaborate with the Head Chef to develop and taste new recipes, providing suggestions for improvement or innovation.
  • Cleaning and Maintenance: Maintain the cleanliness and organization of the kitchen, including your designated area, ensuring equipment is in good working order.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience working as a Commis Chef or similar role.
  • Knowledge of various cooking techniques and cuisines.
  • Strong understanding of food safety and sanitation practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.
