About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Crop Production Manager to join our Farming Team at Barfoots. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of crop production and operations, ensuring efficient and effective cultivation practices to maximize yields while maintaining our high quality standards.

The successful candidate will have strong communication and interpersonal skills, confident of liaising at all levels both internally and externally. You will be responsible for planning, organising, and coordinating activities related to planting, growing, harvesting, and processing. Additionally, you will manage resources, implement agricultural best practices, and ensure compliance with regulations and safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing crop blueprints and weekly crop forecasts
  • Drilling and planting trials, planning daily operations, and programming crops
  • Managing stock, creating and monitoring irrigation plans, and labour allocation and review
  • Creating and implementing appropriate machinery plans, managing field margins and environmental schemes, and maintaining all related financial records
Requirements
  • Ideal education to degree level or industry-related qualification
  • Previous experience of working in a UK-based agricultural environment, with placement years considered
  • Highly organised and computer literate in all MS office programs
  • Proactive and flexible approach to work, effective communication skills, and ability to work to deadlines and prioritise workload
  • BASIS and FACTS would be an advantage, but not essential
