About the Role

As a Behavioural Support Specialist, you will be an integral part of our mission to deliver exceptional care and support to residents with complex behavioural needs. Working closely with our senior team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the daily needs of our residents are met through a person-centred approach.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Provide direct care and support to residents with complex behavioural needs, including assisting with activities of daily living, behaviour management and emotional support.
  • Establish rapport and build trusting relationships with residents, demonstrating empathy, patience and understanding in all interactions.
  • Assist senior and nursing team members with care plans, tasks, and activities to support the resident's wellbeing.
  • Participate in learning and development programmes to provide care in a safe environment.
  • Promote mental stimulation, socialisation and emotional wellbeing through participation in activities.
  • Assist with crisis intervention and de-escalation techniques as needed, following established processes and ensuring resident safety and wellbeing.
  • Undertake any other duties that may be reasonably required as designated by the Home Manager.
