Pinsent Masons, a leading global law firm, is seeking an experienced Data Protection and Compliance Lawyer to join its Privacy and Data team.

Job Overview

This 12-month Fixed-Term Contract (maternity cover) role offers a unique opportunity to work with a talented team of professionals in a fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will have the chance to provide expert advice and guidance on global privacy and data-related matters, supporting the business in managing its data protection and client confidentiality risk.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide legal advice and guidance on privacy and data-related matters
  • Support the business in managing its data protection and client confidentiality risk by overseeing compliance in the UK and working closely with Risk and Compliance partners and data protection experts in other offices
  • Research and provide legal advice and guidance on privacy and data-related matters
  • Review and advise on data and privacy aspects of the firm's client terms, projects, and procurement, including negotiating data-related provisions with clients and suppliers
Requirements
  • Law degree and practicing certificate
  • IAPP, ISEB or other qualification in data protection
  • Previous experience of advising on data protection and general data issues in a commercial environment, negotiating and drafting data protection notices and clauses with suppliers and advising on marketing issues
  • Awareness and understanding of upcoming regulatory changes in the data sphere
  • Ability to plan, organise and prioritise tasks and projects
