Job Description

As a key member of the Stobart team, you will play a crucial role in the success of our transport operations. Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the day-to-day planning function of our transport operation, ensuring that our fleet is utilized efficiently and effectively.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the Transport and Warehouse teams to create an optimized transport plan using the latest Transportation Management System (TMS).
  • Manage subcontracting and planning orders from multiple sites across the UK, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery.
  • Plan and coordinate the daily workload of our fleet, including vehicles based on site and out bases.
  • Identify and report problems, and work with the team to resolve any issues or queries that may arise.
  • Plan collections on a time-critical basis, ensuring that our customers receive their goods on schedule.
  • Monitor and maintain agreed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), striving for continuous improvement.
  • Proactively seek opportunities for process improvements, ensuring that our operations are streamlined and efficient.
  • Adapt to changing business requirements, particularly during peak periods, to meet the needs of the business.
  • Effectively utilize the Culina Group network to support Stobart's operations when volumes dictate.

Requirements:

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and to tight deadlines.
  • Good geographical knowledge of the UK.
  • Proficiency in computer literacy, including Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • CPC qualification desirable but not required.
  • Experience of planning 100+ tractor units across multiple depots.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to succeed in a pressurized environment.
  • Customer focus on delivery performance.
  • Commercially and financially astute, with a drive to deliver exceptional results.
  • Experience of using a TMS system.
  • Experience in an FMCG environment.
  • Strong analytical and Excel capability, including standard formulas.
