Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and enthusiastic Science Laboratory Technician to join our team at Tradewind Recruitment. As a Science Laboratory Technician, you will play a vital role in supporting the science department in a leading mainstream secondary school in Lewisham.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and set up laboratory equipment and materials for science lessons, ensuring a safe and efficient working environment.
  • Assist teaching staff during practical science sessions, providing technical support and guidance to students.
  • Maintain and clean laboratory equipment and workspaces, adhering to health and safety protocols and regulations.
  • Manage inventory and order supplies for the science department, ensuring timely delivery and minimal disruption to lessons.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations in the laboratory, identifying and mitigating potential risks.
  • Assist with the organisation and execution of science-related events and projects, collaborating with teaching staff and other stakeholders.

Requirements:

  • A strong interest in science and education, with a basic understanding of laboratory equipment and safety protocols.
  • Previous experience as a science technician is preferred but not required, with a valid DBS on the update service essential.
