Job Title: Service Engineer Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Service Engineer to join our team at Universal Business Team. As a Service Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation of our water industry clients' equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional customer service through expert product and technical knowledge, reinforcing our brand's reputation for excellence.
  • Install, commission, service, and repair pumps, pump systems, and other mechanical equipment, maintaining the highest standards of workmanship.
  • Conduct site visits as scheduled by the service manager, providing detailed reports and recommendations to optimize equipment performance.
  • Attend emergency call-outs, performing necessary repairs and communicating effectively with the team to ensure seamless operations.
  • Evaluate and mitigate risks, producing robust risk assessments and method statements to guarantee safety at all times.
  • Maintain professionalism and diligence, prioritizing customer satisfaction and outstanding service while adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Perform routine preventative maintenance on wastewater systems, identifying and addressing faults to prevent downtime and ensure optimal system performance.
  • Produce detailed summaries of work, manage work effectively, and communicate progress with schedulers to maintain efficient project management.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to provide out-of-hours cover, demonstrating your commitment to providing 24/7 support to our clients.
Requirements:
  • Technical knowledge of water boosting technology and packaged pump stations is essential for this role.
  • Prior experience in the pump industry or construction-related roles is highly desirable.
  • A Confined Space Entry Qualification and Current CSCS qualification are mandatory for this position.
  • SOME electrical training is required to meet the demands of this role.
  • You must be self-motivated with a 'can-do' attitude and a high standard of workmanship.
  • Excellent problem-solving and critical thinking skills are essential for success in this role.
  • An Emergency First Aid at Work Qualification and Clean driving license are also required.
  • Effective communication skills (verbal, written, and email) are vital for successful collaboration with colleagues and clients.
  • Beneficial IT skills are an added advantage in this role.
