Job Description:

This exciting role offers the opportunity to contribute to the management of our hospital pharmacy procurement services, ensuring the efficient and effective supply of medicines and medical equipment to our wards and departments.

Main Duties:

  • Stock management: Responsible for monitoring and controlling stock levels, ensuring that inventory is properly stored, handled, and disposed of in accordance with established procedures.
  • Supplier relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with suppliers, manufacturers, and other stakeholders to negotiate competitive prices and improve delivery times.
  • Inventory control: Oversee the management of inventory levels, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of our procurement processes.
  • Clinical governance: Collaborate with colleagues to ensure that all aspects of our procurement activities are conducted in accordance with established clinical governance policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: Hold a relevant pharmacy qualification and registration with the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC).
  • Experience: Proven experience in procurement or a related field, preferably within a healthcare setting.
  • Communication skills: Possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Technical skills: Proficient in using Microsoft Office applications, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint, as well as any other relevant software packages.
