About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our team at Baker Barracks, Thorney Island. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness of the dishwash and surrounding areas, carrying out all washing up duties, and assisting with basic food preparation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain the cleanliness of the dishwash and surrounding areas
  • Carry out all washing up duties for a busy kitchen and restaurant
  • Clean and sterilize counter tops, walls, and sinks
  • Ensure the dining room tables are cleared and cleaned daily
  • Assist with basic food preparation if required
  • Clean the dining areas
  • Assist with daily and weekly deep cleans
  • Assist with deliveries and organize them in the correct storage areas
  • Remove waste from waste containers and dispose of them in the correct external bins
  • Provide assistance to front of house and kitchen staff as required

Requirements

  • Previous kitchen experience is required
  • An excellent communicator with a good work ethic
  • DBS required
  • Excellent team player
  • Ability to adapt to long shifts
