About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Governor and Membership Manager to join our team at Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to work closely with our Council of Governors and Membership to ensure the effective governance and administration of our Trust.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide advanced professional assistance to the Company Secretary in support of the administration and implementation of the Trust's corporate governance agenda.
  • Ensure that the Council of Governors and all related sub-groups operate smoothly and effectively, in accordance with legislative and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare, plan, and deliver a broad range of complex activities as required by the Director and Deputy Director of Corporate Affairs.
  • Contribute to establishing and maintaining good corporate governance practice across the Trust, ensuring compliance with the regulatory framework.

Requirements
  • Education to Degree level or significant equivalent experience in a governance role.
  • Recent experience of working in a governance role in a complex organisation, preferably in the NHS.
  • Strong analytical and critical reasoning skills, with the ability to interpret national policy initiatives and identify their relevance to the Trust.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to negotiate with senior stakeholders and present complex information to groups.
