Play and Youth Team Coordinator

Job Summary: Disability Challengers is seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Play and Youth Team Coordinator to join our team in Kingston. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for assisting the Leader in the development of creative and stimulating activities and programmes for disabled children and young people.

Job Responsibilities: The successful candidate will be responsible for:
- Assisting the Leader in the development of creative and stimulating activities and programmes for disabled children and young people.
- Liaising between the Scheme, children, and their parents, teachers, schools, local authority departments, other Centres, and organisations in the locality.
- Working harmoniously as a team under the general direction of the Leader and motivating and managing a team of people in the Leader's absence.
- Supervising and training workers, volunteers, and students on placement.
- Encouraging and facilitating effective working relationships between staff members and assisting the Leader with staff matters.
- Planning and executing holiday programmes, including projects, outings, entertainments, workshops, and residential trips.
- Encouraging voluntary support for the Scheme and supervising voluntary helpers and welcoming visitors.
- Maintaining the security of the building and site at all times and ensuring the complete safety and welfare of the children.
- Participating in the running and development of Challengers as appropriate and providing information as required by the Leader, Chief Executive, Chairman of the Association, or Trustees.
Requirements: To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Leadership experience
- Experience working with disabled children and young people
- A willingness to get stuck in and transform the lives of disabled children through the power of play
- A Level 3 qualification in Play, Youth Work, or Early Years or a relevant qualification
