HGV Technician Job Description

We are seeking a skilled HGV Technician to join our team at Workforce Staffing Ltd in Manchester. As a key member of our workshop team, you will be responsible for maintaining our fleet of HGVs to the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Inspect and maintain HGVs to comply with legal and company standards
  • Prepare vehicles for MOT testing and transport to test centres
  • Record vehicle defects and maintain accurate records of work carried out
  • Repair minor accident damage and carry out fault diagnosis
  • Actively seek solutions to problems and provide excellent customer service
Requirements:
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • C+E licence and commercial experience on HGVs
  • City & Guilds part 1 & 2 &3/BTEC/IMI in motor vehicle management or equivalent practical experience
What We Offer:
  • Competitive pay rates, including £19.28 per hour Monday to Friday
  • Overtime rates after 47.5 hours per week and enhanced rates on Saturday and Sunday
  • Flexible shift patterns, including any 5 shifts out of 7
