Job Title: Autism Support Worker

Are you passionate about making a positive impact in the lives of students with autism? We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Autism Support Worker to join our team at a local Secondary School in Weymouth.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide individualized support to students with autism, helping them access the curriculum and achieve their learning goals.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive environment where students feel valued and empowered to reach their full potential.
  • Collaborate with teachers and other staff to develop and implement Individual Education Plans (IEPs) and behaviour management strategies tailored to each student's needs.
  • Support effective communication between students, teachers, and parents/guardians, ensuring all stakeholders are informed and involved in the student's progress.
  • Encourage students to develop their independence and life skills, promoting self-confidence and resilience.
  • Regularly assess and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and contributing to progress reports and reviews.
Requirements:
  • Experience or training in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD).
  • Patience, empathy, and a positive attitude towards supporting student development.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students and colleagues alike.
  • Flexibility and adaptability in responding to the changing needs of students and the school environment.
