About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant in Paediatric Dentistry to join our team at Liverpool University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering secondary and tertiary specialist paediatric dentistry services, working closely with our clinical team to provide high-quality care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct new patient and treatment activity, providing consultant cover as and when necessary.
  • Engage in teaching and training of dental core trainees, specialty registrars, and post-CCST trainees.
  • Participate in continuing dental education meetings and quality improvement projects, working within the Trust's Governance frameworks.

Person Specification

  • Essential:
    • Satisfactory pre-employment health screening.
    • Experience in the day-to-day clinical management of a Paediatric Dentistry service.
    • Effective participation in clinical audit/service evaluations/quality improvement programmes.
    • Experience of postgraduate and undergraduate teaching and training at an appropriate level.
    • Full registration with the United Kingdom General Dental Council and on the Paediatric Dentistry Specialist list.
  • Desirable:
    • Clinical leadership experience in paediatric dentistry.
    • Qualification in Medical Leadership.
    • Lead role in the delivery of QI initiatives.
    • Teaching qualification.
    • Experience in Community Dental Services setting.
    • Competence in intravenous sedation as an operator sedationist.
