**About the Role**

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Technical Officer to join our team in the Faculty of Engineering and Technology at Liverpool John Moores University. As a key member of our laboratory support team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities and supporting our students and staff in their research and teaching activities.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Provide technical support to laboratory staff and students, including maintenance and repair of equipment and facilities.
  • Develop and implement laboratory procedures and protocols to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  • Collaborate with academic staff to design and deliver laboratory-based teaching and research projects.
  • Contribute to the development of new laboratory facilities and equipment.

**Requirements**

  • Proven experience in a laboratory setting, preferably in a Civil Engineering and Built Environment context.
  • Strong knowledge of laboratory procedures and protocols, including health and safety standards.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • Ability to evidence previous experience in one or more of the following areas: Geotechnics, Hydraulics, Materials, Site Surveying, and/or Highways.
