Job Title: Interim Head of Repairs

Location: South West England / Hybrid

Contract Duration: 6 months (ongoing)

Pay: £450 to £550 per day - Inside IR35 (depending on experience)

Vivid Resourcing Ltd is seeking an experienced leader to join our team as an Interim Head of Repairs. This pivotal role will play a crucial part in transforming the Repairs Service, ensuring residents receive high-quality repair services while managing costs effectively.

Main Responsibilities:
  1. Organizational Development: Collaborate with stakeholders to review and implement a new repairs organizational structure and operating model, enhancing service delivery and efficiency.
  2. Leadership: Provide strategic leadership to the Repairs Service, managing a dedicated team of approximately 30 staff members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
  3. Quality Assurance: Ensure that the procurement, quality, and performance of contractors consistently meet the highest standards, delivering a positive experience for residents.
  4. Resident Engagement: Engage with residents to understand their needs and expectations, facilitating improvements in services, reducing costs, and contributing to vibrant neighborhoods where people enjoy living.
  5. Performance & Budget Management: Foster a culture that emphasizes performance and budget management, ensuring a clear connection between operational costs, service quality, and achieving right-first-time repairs.
  6. Cost Management & Satisfaction: Implement strategies to reduce costs while increasing resident satisfaction with the services provided.
  7. Process Improvement: Lead initiatives to streamline business processes and systems across the repairs service, including the integration of digital solutions to enhance operational efficiency and responsiveness.
  8. Out-of-Hours Service Oversight: Participate in and report on the performance of the out-of-hours repairs service, ensuring reliability and responsiveness at all times.
Key Requirements:
  1. Proven experience in a managerial or head of service role within a local authority or housing association, demonstrating a strong track record in service improvement and team leadership.
  2. Excellent understanding of budget management and performance metrics.
  3. Strong communication and engagement skills to effectively interact with residents and stakeholders.
