We are partnered with the Alzheimer’s Society to find an experienced Head of IT Delivery to join their team as the strategic point of contact for the Technology Department, acting as the "front door" for their extensive portfolio of IT and digital projects. This role calls for a credible and influential leader who can oversee complex technology initiatives and ensure they align with our broader transformation goals.
As Head of IT Delivery and Transformation, you will manage a portfolio of projects spanning multiple departments, including finance, HR, and fundraising systems, as well as spearheading significant digital transformation efforts. You’ll lead projects through the full lifecycle, from concept and business case development to execution, testing, and benefits realisation, while focusing on risk, governance, and impact reporting.

You’ll ensure that resources are allocated effectively, with projects strategically prioritised and on track. With responsibility for a team of 14, you’ll also embed consistent project management practices within the department, fostering a culture of robust, efficient delivery.

Oversee a varied IT project portfolio, from roadmap development through to implementation, ensuring all initiatives are aligned with strategic objectives and stakeholder expectations.
Provide clear project health assessments, risks, and progress dashboards for the executive leadership team.
Act as the primary contact for IT engagement and change management, liaising across departments and with stakeholders.
Lead and develop a team of 14, including Business Analysts, IT Project Managers, and other key roles. Build credibility and influence with senior stakeholders, articulating project progress and benefits realisation and offering clear, well-informed advice on project feasibility and prioritisation.
Drive the benefits realisation process, ensuring completed projects deliver measurable value and align with business needs.
Develop and implement an IT delivery strategy aligned with the organisation’s goals.
Build credibility with senior stakeholders, communicating project progress and supporting benefits realisation.
Extensive experience leading technology transformations in enterprise and governed environments
Demonstrated ability to oversee projects with budgets from £500k to £5m and experience presenting to ELT and board
History of building and leading high-performing teams, promoting a collaborative and development-focused environment.
Experienced with digital transformations working within Agile methodologies with a successful track record in complex IT and digital project delivery.
Robust stakeholder management experience, with the ability to build trust, influence, and handle challenging conversations with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with effective budget management and resource allocation abilities.
Experience with organisational implementations (e.g., ERP, CRM) and cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure). Knowledge of data protection and GDPR requirements.
Desirable qualifications include PRINCE2, ITIL Six Sigma, Lean, SAFe certifications, and experience in analytics, reporting tools, and change management within NFP organisations.
