Lead Young People's Support Manager

Job Role:
We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Deputy Children's Home Manager to join our team at Empower Family Group. As a key member of the management team, you will play a vital role in supporting the staff team and young people in providing a stable, structured, and therapeutic environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for leading on shift, ensuring that the values of the organization are embodied, and implementing care plans and person-centred care. You will also take a lead role in developing and updating key documents while role-modeling and supporting colleagues.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Share and embody the company ethos and values at all times in your practice.
- To fully understand, contribute to, and implement the home's Statement of Purpose.
- Support the manager in practices that promote the individuals' care plans, reflecting their wishes and changing needs.
- Provide child-focused practices such as activities, shopping, meal preparation, cleaning, laundry, and personal care tasks.
- Support service users in an appropriate professional manner in all aspects of their lives.
- Encourage service users to make choices and decisions for themselves, supporting them to do new things while keeping them safe.
- Be flexible in your approach, working for the benefit of the service users and colleagues.
- Work sleep shifts or waking nights if required.
Key Attributes:
- Be a good role model for the staff team.
- Ensure the staff team are supported, mentored, and receive the highest quality of supervision and coaching.
- Undertake all duties of your role with due diligence and pride.
- Always be responsible and accountable for the young people's safety and well-being.
- Assist with supervisions and ensure that all identified tasks are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
Safeguarding:
- Promote the safety and well-being of the service users.
- Nurture a positive culture of safeguarding processes and practices.
- Follow instructions and actions identified in care plans and risk assessments.
- Report any worries or concerns to your line manager in a prompt timescale.
- Follow statutory and company guidance on whistleblowing and complaints/grievance procedures.
This role is subject to the successful applicant having an enhanced DBS check for child and adult workforce with barred list checks.
This post is exempt from the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and therefore applicants are required to declare any convictions, cautions, reprimands, and final warnings that are not protected.
This post is only available to applicants aged over 21 as permitted under the Equality Act 2010.
The estimated salary for this position is £36,745 per annum, plus an on-call rota allowance. We offer a full-time, permanent contract with 40 hours per week.
