Finance Manager

As a key member of the University of Glasgow's finance team, we are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Finance Manager to lead the financial planning, reporting, and governance of the InFrame project. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, managing financial risks, and ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
Main Duties and Responsibilities- Develop and implement a comprehensive financial management plan that aligns with the project's strategic objectives.
- Provide financial leadership and guidance to the project team, ensuring effective financial planning, reporting, and governance.
- Manage financial risks and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, including health and safety policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including project team members, university finance teams, and external partners.
- Provide high-quality financial analysis and reporting, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial performance monitoring.
- Lead on financial process improvement and change, ensuring operational and financial efficiencies are delivered.
- Ensure accurate and timely financial reporting, including financial statements, management accounts, and other relevant reports.
- Develop and maintain a culture of financial excellence, promoting a continuous improvement approach and ensuring appropriate professional standards are maintained.
- Substantial post-qualification management accounting experience, with a proven track record in leading and managing financial planning, reporting, and governance within a large complex environment.
- Demonstrable experience of working with and influencing across all levels of an organisation, including senior management, providing direction, delivering results, building on relationships, and capability.
- Proven experience of building robust business cases with non-financial professionals and presenting these to senior management.
- Proven experience of working as a key member of a multidisciplinary team, providing financial leadership, support, and challenge.
- Proven experience of successfully contributing to continuous financial process improvement and change, with demonstrable operational and financial efficiencies delivered.
- Experience of managing grant funding projects or programmes from initiation to conclusion and/or related funding mechanisms such as tax incentives.
- Understanding of relevant health and safety policies and procedures relative to the role, and the quality outputs and standards required.
