Senior Client Manager Accountant

We are seeking a highly experienced Accounting Manager to join our team in Waterlooville, Hampshire.
Job SummaryThis is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned accounting professional to lead and manage a team of accountants, providing coaching, training, and development to ensure the highest level of service delivery to our clients.
Key Responsibilities- Lead and manage a team of 4-5 direct reports, providing guidance, support, and development opportunities.
- Provide leadership and role-modelled behaviour to the accountancy team, promoting company values and ensuring high standards of performance.
- Perform relevant employee 1-2-1 meetings for a section of the accounting team, focusing on career development and growth.
- Conduct return to work interviews, supporting employees in their transition back to work.
- Support the Accountancy Manager with planning and monitoring the performance of the accountancy team's key performance measures, including weekly stats and timesheets.
- Develop internal systems and controls to ensure standards are met, supporting company values and requirements.
- Recruit and interview candidates with the Recruitment Lead, ensuring the best fit for the team.
To be successful in this role, you will need:
- Membership to a professional body (not necessarily chartered).
- Confidence in providing direct advice to clients, with sound tax knowledge.
- Effective communication skills, able to communicate at all levels across the company and directly with clients.
- At least 5 years of accounting practice experience, with experience working in accounting practice within the last 2 years.
- Good standard of verbal and written English.
- Proficient IT skills, with Excel and Word being essential.
- A sound working knowledge of QuickBooks and Xero (desirable).
The estimated salary for this position is £40,000 - £60,000 per annum, depending on experience. The package includes a comprehensive benefits scheme, including pension, health insurance, and annual leave.
