Job Title: Technical Delivery Director

Job Summary: We are seeking an experienced Technical Delivery Director to lead our technical teams in delivering customer, player, and business value at Jagex. As a key member of our leadership team, you will work closely with senior leadership to transform our delivery capability and drive continuous improvement.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Develop and execute the operational strategy of our technical teams.
  • Create work systems used throughout the business unit, including team structure, reporting status, and coordination.
  • Develop accountability rituals to plan, review, and hold teams accountable for their commitments.
  • Ensure problems with delivery are regularly and quickly diagnosed and addressed.
  • Keep internal stakeholders and customers up to date on commitments and delivery status.
  • Understand the capabilities of our technical teams to plan for current work and future needs.
  • Drive tech team leadership discussion on growth and workforce allocation.
  • Resolve conflicts within and between departments effectively.
  • Ensure psychological safety, healthy feedback culture, and conflict management.
  • Work with leadership to foster an environment where teams are empowered and autonomy is normalized.
  • Collaborate with Senior Director of Production and other production personnel to improve delivery based on cutting-edge practices and techniques.
  • Establish production KPIs in-line with studio-wide best practice and monitor, improve, and report on them.
  • Be accountable for correct allocation of operational expenditure and reporting purposes for the department P&L.
  • Line manage Delivery Leads for pastoral care, career development, performance management, and coaching and mentoring junior production personnel.

Requirements:

  • Active interest in the games industry and technology behind it.
  • Extensive experience in hands-on delivery using Agile, Lean, and/or Systems Thinking.
  • Experience managing/facilitating complex deliveries involving 3 or more teams.
  • Proven Software-Development Lifecycle experience.
  • Able to influence senior stakeholders to achieve the best outcome for Jagex and your team.
  • Demonstrable experience collaborating with Product, UX, QA, and Engineering in multi-functional teams.
  • Experience working in a scaled delivery environment.
  • Recent experience working effectively with distributed teams.
  • Value-driven rather than project metrics driven (outcome over output).
