About the Role
The Older Adult Psychology Service is a dynamic and supportive team within the Psychology Department at NHS Dumfries & Galloway. As a Clinical Psychologist, you will play a key role in improving the mental health needs of older adults living in Dumfries and Galloway.
Key Responsibilities
- Work with older adults with a range of clinical presentations, including depression, anxiety, trauma, adjustment and loss, across various clinical settings.
- Conduct neuropsychological assessments to support timely and accurate diagnosis of dementia.
- Develop and deliver training, supervision and indirect work to support other agencies working with older people with mental health needs.
Team and Support
The team consists of dedicated staff skilled in various psychological models, including CBT, systemic, ACT, IPT and EMDR. Regular staff meetings and supervision are held, and CPD is supported. The post has dedicated CPD and supervision time.
