Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Principal Systems Engineer to join our team. As a Principal Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and testing classified secure systems, including Information Management Systems, Command and Control systems, and Security Monitoring of IT.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Infrastructure as Code: Utilize technologies such as Ansible, Terraform, Python, Gitlab (CI), and Github to manage infrastructure.
  • Requirements Definition and Analysis: Capture, interpret, and analyze complex customer requirements.
  • System Design: Contribute to system design definition and expand high-level design into low-level design using technical experience, judgment, and best practices.
  • Technical Design Reviews: Participate in technical design reviews to ensure system design meets requirements.
  • Leading Technology and Feasibility Studies: Select the best approach, tools, and products for a given task and justify choices.
  • Development, Integration, and Test: Develop system solutions, including scripts for system automation and integration.
  • Progress and Status Reporting: Report progress and status to internal customers.
  • Configuration and Administration: Configure and administer system security tools, including SIEM systems, IDS/IPS, Endpoint Detection and Response, and others.
  • Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot system issues and faults to diagnose problems and offer proposed solutions.
  • Implementation of Security Control Measures: Implement security control measures, including enabling operating system lockdown controls.
  • Development of Systems Engineering Artefacts: Develop documentation to support delivery and maintenance of system solutions.
  • Mentorship: Mentor others in area of specialism.
  • Specialist Technical Support: Provide specialist technical support to the business unit, supporting projects or wider programs.

Requirements:

  • Experience in System Build and Virtual Environments: Experience in building and managing virtual environments.
  • Experience in SCCM/MECM: Experience working with SCCM/MECM.
  • Experience Working with APIs: Experience working with APIs to achieve integration objectives between dissimilar systems.
  • Experience with Relational and Unstructured Data: Experience working with both relational and unstructured data using various toolsets across heterogeneous environments and visualizing such data.
  • Competence in Unix/Linux and Windows Operating Systems: Competence in operating and administering Unix/Linux and Windows operating systems.
  • Software Development: Experience in software development using high-level languages (C#, Java, etc.).
  • Infrastructure Build Experience: Experience in building infrastructure and using Infrastructure as Code.
  • Virtualization Technologies: Experience working with virtualization technologies.
  • Enterprise Networking and Services: Experience with enterprise networking and services (TCP/IP networks, devices, and services).
  • Enterprise System Monitoring and Administration: Experience with enterprise system monitoring and administration toolsets.
