Mechanical Engineer Job Description

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Stannah Homelifts. As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing and developing mechanical solutions for our products.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Develop mechanical design solutions for new and legacy products to corporate and international standards.
  • Produce detailed design documentation to support validation of design solutions.
  • Analyse requirements using the DFMEA process to define test specifications.
  • Examine designs using component-level DFMEA process.
  • Produce technical documentation for production, installation, and service.
  • Assess the safety of product designs using Product Safety Hazard Analysis process.
Requirements:
  • Knowledge of rapid prototyping and material selection criteria for steels and metal manufacturing techniques.
  • Understanding of Failure Mode and Effects Analysis for component levels.
  • Experience in producing technical drawings to a BS8888 quality standard.
  • Experience in design and development of electrical and electro-mechanical systems, preferably including safety-critical elements, machinery design, sheet metal and fabrication, motor and gearing applications, mechanisms, and machine reliability.
Minimum Qualifications:
  • HNC/Degree (or equivalent) in an engineering discipline relevant to mechanical engineering.
  • Understanding of how to use Solidworks.
  • Competence in the use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Project.
