Electrical Engineering Leader Job Description

At Babcock International Group, we're working to create a safe and secure world, together.

The Role

As an Electrical Engineering Leader, you'll have the support of a talented team of electrical engineers, fostering a collaborative learning environment where best practices are shared and everyone can continuously develop their expertise.

This role will provide you with the opportunity to spearhead intricate electrical projects alongside a dynamic and engaging team.

Day-to-day, you'll be responsible for delivering electrical aspects of marine system design, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation. Your key responsibilities include:

  1. Developing electrical engineering design solutions for various platforms across the full engineering lifecycle.
  2. Providing electrical design support by preparing and checking design documentation, reviews, estimates, and schedules, in support of tender responses requiring design input.
  3. Supervising, planning, and controlling work to time, cost, and quality.
  4. Producing and approving calculations, analyses, drawings, models, design basis documentation, and technical reports, in accordance with project requirements.

This is a full-time role with hybrid working arrangements, providing 2 days in the office and 3 days working from home. You can be based at our Bristol, Devonport, or Rosyth sites.

Essential Experience

We're looking for a proven Principal Electrical Design Engineer or Senior Engineer with significant experience in overseeing projects, skilled in supporting and developing less experienced team members.

A high level of developed knowledge is required, as the role is directly accountable for design development and determining solutions to problems and issues within the specialist subject area.

Qualifications

Qualified to degree level, or HNC/HND equivalent, coupled with significant experience in the relevant engineering discipline.

Ideally, you'll be a member of a relevant institution and hold or working towards Chartered or Incorporated status, or you'll have significant demonstrable engineering experience and be capable of registration with the Engineering Council at CEng level.

Security Clearance

The successful candidate must be able to achieve and maintain Security Check (SC) security clearance for this role.
