Senior Product Manager

As a Senior Product Manager at Advanced Energy, you will be responsible for managing the worldwide business for multiple product lines through their lifecycles. This includes product strategy, customer/market requirements analysis, and pricing. You will interact with engineering, manufacturing, and sales teams to optimize business performance for assigned product lines. Additionally, you will assist in segmentation, business planning, product marketing strategies, portfolio management, negotiations, and production forecasts.

This position may also have management responsibility for other, less experienced members of the product management team. You will help define the roles of product managers and their interactions with other departments, as well as create processes for their work and set standards for product management at AE. You will provide training for other product managers.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Product Life Cycle: Initiate, drive, and manage product life cycle from concept and feasibility to high volume manufacturing to obsolescence.
  • Reports to Senior Management on the P&L performance of assigned Product Lines.
  • Monitor global market trends for new opportunities and refine understanding of user needs in AE target markets through research and customer visits.
  • Product Roadmaps: Maintain Product roadmap for portfolio of products and update them periodically through interactions with internal and external experts.
  • Assess viability of product concepts and customization requests to meet worldwide market, financial, and technology goals.
  • Define product plans, including critical features, price targets, profit, return on investment (ROI), competitive strength, and value delivery.
  • Guide development and manage tradeoffs of specifications and schedules for new products and/or services.
  • Manage engineering priorities for assigned product lines, ensuring alignment of engineering efforts with business goals and customer requirements.
  • Interface with Global Sales, Research and Development, Engineering, Worldwide Customer Support, Operations, Corporate Marketing, Quality, and other partners to ensure new offerings meet technical specifications, cost targets, delivery commitments, and achieve customer adoption.
  • As needed, coordinate with external partners, Business Development, alternative channels, and third-party integrators.
  • With Corporate Marketing, drive naming, positioning, literature, collateral, web content, and launch activities.
  • Coordinate regular forecasting and demand analysis with Sales.
  • Customer Engagement: Support technical and business meetings with customers and create and manage customer presentations.
  • May be responsible for managing Product Managers and other Marketing staff members directly reporting to this position, including personnel issues, budgets, and activities.
  • Use market research and competitive analysis as needed in these activities to maximize AE global market advantage.
  • Define and implement sustaining and end-of-life strategies for mature or declining product lines.
  • Assist with annual business planning, marketing tools, and infrastructure as needed.
