Astute People is seeking a highly skilled Senior Quantity Surveyor to join our team in a fixed-term contract role. As a key member of our Commercial team, you will be responsible for providing commercial advice and support to our Project Managers across various disciplines.
Key Responsibilities- Oversee change management through CEMAR, ensuring compliance with contractual deadlines.
- Ensure timely preparation of Monthly Applications for Payment in line with contract conditions.
- Provide commercial advice to the site team and management on all contractual matters.
- Draft and issue NEC3 subcontracts, ensuring clear communication of contractual obligations.
- Prepare internal contract valuations, accurately assessing project costs and progress.
- Prepare monthly cost and value reports, presenting insights to senior management.
- Collaborate closely with project managers, the managing QS, and engineering disciplines.
- Compile and present forecasts at meetings, contributing to data-driven decisions and proactive risk management.
- Assist Contracts Managers and operational teams with sound commercial advice, leveraging industry expertise.
- Guide and mentor junior commercial team members, promoting professional growth and continuous learning.
- Manage projects to maximize opportunities and minimize risks.
- Qualification in Quantity Surveying
- Ability to manage multiple schemes
- Experience working within the construction sector is essential
- Excellent commercial awareness
- Exceptional attention to detail
- The ability to work well under pressure, and to deadlines
- Excellent organisational and communication skills
- The ability to work on site
- Ability to obtain security clearance
- Inside IR35
- Contract length - 6 months
