Nuclear Assurance Specialist Job Description

At Babcock, we require a Nuclear Assurance Specialist to monitor all nuclear assurance activities across the Submarine Dismantling Programme. The successful candidate will have a strong background in nuclear operations, maintenance, safety, and regulatory compliance.

You will report to the Head of Nuclear Assurance and be responsible for leading specific nuclear related interventions ensuring regulatory compliance. You will also review and align our nuclear processes with industry best practice and any change with external regulatory legislation.

As a Nuclear Assurance Specialist, you will provide independent oversight across nuclear activities, promoting attitudes and behaviours that encourage constructive challenge. You will also lead independent assessments and investigations across nuclear projects, indicating where external independent review or enforcement action is required as directed by the Head of Nuclear Assurance or Nuclear Operations Director.
