Job Title: Apprentice Domestic Gas Engineer

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Apprentice Domestic Gas Engineer to join our team at Ignite Recruitment Services. As a key member of our heating maintenance team, you will be responsible for providing a comprehensive repairs and maintenance service to domestic heating installations and appliances in client properties.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Service, repair, maintain, and install gas appliances in client-owned properties, adhering to manufacturer's instructions and guidelines.
  2. Diagnose and repair modern and traditional boilers, as well as central heating systems, including fitting new pumps, motorized valves, radiators, and adapting pipework as necessary.
  3. Perform power flushing of heating systems to ensure optimal performance.
  4. Ensure the security and correct operation of plant and equipment supplied, including vehicles, flue gas analysis meters, and mobile data equipment.
  5. Maintain accurate certification and documentation, adhering to Data Protection and Information Security regulations.
  6. Monitor first-time fix and call-back rates to ensure high standards and service levels.
  7. Utilize strong literacy and numeracy skills to complete calculations associated with gas works and disseminate manufacturer's instructions.
  8. Apply logical and methodical problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve issues, maintaining focus and mental concentration.
  9. Provide excellent customer care, handling potentially difficult situations with empathy and professionalism.
  10. Work collaboratively as part of a team and independently, demonstrating initiative and adaptability.
  11. Effectively communicate with customers to explain gas appliance operation and the importance of regular servicing.
  12. Meet deadlines and timescales, liaising with managers and customers regarding schedule changes or appointments.
  13. Be willing to train and mentor apprentices or other personnel as required.
Qualifications:

ACS qualifications - minimum of CCN1, CEN1, WAT1, (CENWAT), CKR1, HTR1 & CPA1, Energy Efficiency, DAH1, Unvented Hot Water, WRAS (water supply regulations 1999).

Health & Safety:

Certificate of Asbestos Awareness Training - Essential.
